Jaguars defensive scheme will change to fit Josh Allen

Recommended Posts

The Jacksonville Jaguars have liked what they have seen out of rookie pass rusher Josh Allen so far in the 2019 NFL preseason. Allen had his breakout performance, wrecking havoc on the Miami Dolphins on national television last week and has been excellent throughout training camp. So much so that the idea of Allen being just a sub-pass rusher his rookie year seems to be an after thought. As it should be.t obvious we have to get our best players on the field, Jaguars defensive coordinator Todd Wash told The Florida Times-Union. o obviously wee got two very good defensive ends in Josh and Yannick https://www.jaguarsoutletshop.com/Dede_Westbrook_Jersey-33. Wee got to come up with ways to get them both on the grass at the same time.t appears the Jaguars will be adjusting their defensive scheme to make sure they can get Josh Allen on the field as much as they can. We saw some it last Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins when the Jaguars lined up in kind of an kie front. Calais Campbell was one of the ends, Abry Jones was the nose https://www.jaguarsoutletshop.com/Ryquell_Armstead_Jersey-197, Taven Bryan was the other end and both Yannick Ngakoue and Allen were standing up as rush linebackers with Najee Goode and Myles Jack as the inside backers.e have to be able to tweak our system a little bit, but that our job as coaches is to put them in position to be successful and hopefully we can do, Wash added. The Jaguars experimented a little bit with something similar last season, standing Ngakoue up and moving him around for pass rushing, but now they have a true 3-4 outside linebacker type in Allen https://www.jaguarsoutletshop.com/Chris_Conley_Jersey-180, who can also play with his hand on the ground. Even though he a rookie, Allen is the type of swish-army knife defensive player the Jaguars have been looking for on their front.I don know that the Jaguars will move to a true 3-4 defense, but given their issues at linebacker and the potential turnover on the defensive line in the future, perhaps they will slowly make that transition. For now though, it clear the Jaguars are the under the same impression as everyone else who has watched Josh Allen so far. That kid is good as hell and he should play as much as possible.
